First harvest …

It doesn’t seem very momentous, to snip some herbs from a pot on the patio and bring them inside, but it’s more the intention setting behind it that’s important.  I’m saying, this is the point at which I never buy herbs again.  No more trying to prop up drooping supermarket fresh herbs for those few extra days, or using the not-quite-as-tasty dried variety.   It’s a beginning of something, and worth a little celebration, I think.  Here’s to our very small first harvest…

  1. So far, I’ve only harvested a handful of chives, half a handful of garlic chives, and a few cilantro leaves from my potager, but it’s better than nothing. Snow in the forecast…again! Growing it yourself is meaningful!

    1. Thank you – that’s really heartening! I’m based in England, so although snow isn’t too likely, we’re still waiting on the frosts to disappear around mid-May, so at the moment my kitchen is looking a little like a greenhouse 🙂
